Rodrigo H. Salim is, since 2017, the Energy Storage and Microgrids Leader of GE Grid Solutions for Latin America, being responsible for the portfolio related to energy storage, microgrids, and digital solutions. Before joining Grid Solutions, Rodrigo was with the GE Global Research Center in Brazil, having worked as a researcher from 2012 until 2014, when he became a Business Development Manager in the same organization, becoming responsible for directing the research and development activities in Latin America related to power generation, transmission, and distribution.
Rodrigo received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS, Brazil) in 2006 and 2008, respectively. In 2011, he also received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of São Paulo (USP/EESC, Brazil). Rodrigo has 14 published papers in international journals and more than 40 papers published in events. He is a Senior Member of IEEE.
He worked as Control and Protection Specialist in Advanced Automation, Siemens and GERS, participating in the development of protection and communication projects IEC61850 that took place in different countries of South and Central America. In 2016 he joined OMICRON as Regional Application Specialist in Protections and Communications of electrical systems.
